BARCLAYS HOUSE CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT

SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER, ST PETER’S CHURCH, PARKSTONE, 7.30pm

Barclays House Choir presents its annual Christmas concert at St Peter’s Church, Ashley Cross, Poole, on Sunday 16 December at 7.30pm. The choir will be joined by soprano soloist Sarah Palfreman-Kay and accompanied by the St Peter’s Orchestra who will also provide instrumental interludes including the fast and festive ‘Sleigh Ride’ and a sparkling medley of Christmas tunes entitled ‘A Christmas Festival’. The programme covers a wide range of music in different styles, with a selection from Handel’s oratorio ‘Messiah’ (including the rousing ‘Hallelujah’ chorus), the sparkling ‘Carol of the Bells’, the ever-lovely ‘Silent Night’ and an up-beat version of ‘We 3 Kings.’ With ample opportunities for audience participation in several traditional carols, this promises to be an enjoyable and entertaining evening as we explore both the contemplative and celebratory themes of Christmas. Tickets, priced £12 (concessions available) can be reserved by telephone (01202 552571) or purchased on the door.
